Weird Places Worth Visiting

Written by JT

Everyone has a favorite place to go to. Everyone has a special place to visit. There are some places that anyone has no desire to go to. There are places that no one has ever heard of, or may want to visit because of its little known history. There are plenty of ‘weird places’ around the globe, and many appeal to travelers.

Many people like to travel. Some people tend to travel to a place where they feel comfortable, or a place just within reach, not to somewhere strange. On http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/, it shows the 12 weirdest places in Texas:

  • The Big Bubble in Houston (A giant red button)

  • Royse City Futuro House in Royse City.  (A decaying space dwelling)

  • Superconducting Super Collider in Waxahachie. (A particle accelerator)

  • Sparky Park in Austin. (An art gallery)

  • 1880s Alien Gravesite in Aurora. (A cemetery for aliens)

  • Barney Smith’s Toilet Seat Art Museum in San Antonio.

  • The Traveling Man in Dallas. (A statue that came to life after being splashed by jin)

  • Art Car Museum in Houston.

  • Starship Pegasus in Italy. (A former restaurant and entertainment center)

  • Cathedral of Junk in Austin.

  • Hueco Tanks in El Paso. (A group of rock basins)

  • Kettle House in Galveston. (A house that looks like a tea kettle)

Even places that seem familiar to a person may actually find that the place is very weird. Familiar surroundings have a sense of familiarity, yet there can be some strangeness all around, and not just to people visiting friends and family, but also well-known actors and singers. Actor Dean Cain says, “Hollywood’s a very weird place. I think there’s less of everything except for attitude.”

There’s actually no harm in visiting weird places. Going to weird places is seeing what kind of weird things the world has to offer.
