Everybody has inside jokes. Whether they start out alone, or with a group of friends, inside jokes can last up to many years. Inside jokes in school can also bring people closer together. Senior year especially can be a time where seniors reminisce and talk about stories and inside jokes throughout their time in high school.

    What is an inside joke? An inside joke is a joke that only a certain amount of people know about. It is usually a joke that happens in the moment, and bringing the moment up again can make the people involved really laugh. These jokes can be brought up so many times, that the joke can last up to many years. People love inside jokes because it brings back many great memories and moments. It can also bring you closer to people, mainly because you share something in common. These kind of jokes can make people really happy, and it is a great way to boost people up.

    On the negative side, inside jokes can leave people out at times. When someone makes the joke and not everyone gets it can make some people upset. Although the jokes are not meant to leave anyone out, it can hurt people’s feelings.

  Finally, even with the negatives, inside jokes are a great way to get to know people and make people smile. Laughter is the best medicine, people say, and inside jokes are a great way of making people feel better.
