2016 has passed, and now we all wait for all the wonderful things that 2017 has in store for us all. Last year we experienced old things that many considered to be new. We saw chokers rising from the dead, and high-waisted pants seem to have gained popularity once again. These “new” fashion changes have been predicting what's to come in 2017.

Fashion shows coming up this spring in Paris confirm these predictions. In many of these previews, you see the models sporting 80s inspired makeup; from the overdone blush to the neon colored eyeshadow. Not only do many of these upcoming fashion shows confirm these predictions, but many of the UME students believe it as well.

Mary Shetter stated, “From what I have seen in the past year I believe that many of our fashion trends seem to be gravitating towards the 80s.” Darlene Burch also gave her opinion on the new fashion trend and stated, “I think that they are going to be fabulous," she added, snapping, “I also think that they are going to be mostly 80s inspired which is going to be cool.”

Many people may be excited about the 80s coming back from the dead. Some people might regret the 80’s ever happened. Whether or not their predictions end up coming true, one thing is for sure, 2017 will have many exciting things to come. Many people hope for something new in their wardrobe, even if it is a recycled fashion era.
