Five seconds on the clock, the crowd is roaring, and Andrew drives the ball up the court. He pulls up from the three point line and the twine goes, “swish!” The shot was in! With two seconds left, the referees decided to let the clock run out and called the game over.

The game came to an unfortunate end as the Eagles took a two-point loss. While no one on the team wanted to lose, it was a fiercely fought game, certainly something to build on. With the rest of the season in front of them and the chance to make playoffs still looming, the UME Varsity Basketball team is excited to get some wins under their belt.

“We’ve really grown and become a cohesive unit. Getting some more wins and making playoffs is our number one priority,” declares starting small forward Logan Barker. Many of the other players on the team share his sympathies and are excited for the next week of games ahead of them.

In a recent interview, Coach Graves commented, “These young men have the drive, determination, and skill that it takes to win out this season.” The Eagles are ramping up for the final push and cannot wait to bring 110 percent out on the court.
