Senior Season Comes to an End

By Kimberley Carmen

Essays, assignment sheets, and homework aren’t the only things UME seniors have to worry about. Sports takes up a major part of the seniors’ lives, whether it’s actually participating in them, or simply going and cheering for their favorite athletes. The 2016-2017 school year is coming to an end soon, and the spring sports season is merely beginning.

For everyone else, this will be just another season. However, for the seniors, this is the very last time they will play a high school sport.

“It is sad because I have had so many memories playing high school sports with UME, and to see it come to an end is a little depressing,” says Brian Barker.

The seniors of UME have built a family with their teammates. They have created a bond like no other. “I love my team! Even when they’re being dumb,” says Bethany Hinton. Seniors have a great impact on each of the varsity teams, and will each leave behind a reminder of their great contributions.

Now with their high school season coming to an end, the seniors will venture into new sports territory: college.

“No sports in college (for me), but I do plan to play intramurals and club sports in college,” says Brian. To each their own, finding their path. After all, the spring is all about renewal.
