All over television screens throughout the United States, viewers can witness police brutality and racial profiling. However, viewers still are not given true insight to what is happening behind the scenes.

The new television series, “Shots Fired”, aired its first episode on March 22, 2017 on FOX. The new drama series offers the intensity of the justice world that those who enjoyed shows such as “Law and Order”, and “CSI” might approve of. It is a dramatic television series taking on the ever popular news stories of police brutality and corruption in the justice system around the country.

The new drama offers a whole new perspective of the United States justice system. Viewers are given a special inside look into the worlds of the people involved in a potential murder case in a small town in North Carolina. This different perspective gives a refreshingly normal take on a series adaption of everyday life.

“Shots Fired” stars Sanaa Lathan, Stephen James, and Helen Hunt. Even in the first episode, the actors brilliantly brought their characters to life with emotion and power. The portrayal of each character was unique and each actor truly connected with their television persona.

Each character gives their own special touch to the show that brings it to life in a completely not overly scripted and over done kind of way. The variety of characters gives an opportunity for anyone to find a person they can connect to. Characters from different walks of life all come together in special ways that gives the show a little something special besides just being another generic crime show.

Overall, the very first episode of “Shots Fired” is a captivating show that pulls in viewers to find out what is really going on in the small Southern town. “Shots Fired” is definitely recommended for crime show and drama lovers.
