From the years 2000 to 2017, Hugh Jackman has played the most famous X-Men character: Wolverine. When he first looked at the script for the first X-Men movie titled “X-Men” he sat down with his wife and read through it. After they were finished, his wife said, “This is dumb.” She didn't know it would be his best known role.

 

Logan is about an older, worn down Wolverine trying to survive in a world where mutants are hunted. He is accompanied by an old Professor X, who has trouble controlling his powers, which cause people to become riddled with paralysis.

 

Also accompanying Logan is Laura, aka X-23. Laura is an 11-year-old girl that was bred to be a part of a mutant army that would be controlled by the antagonist. Logan and this companions are trying to get to a safe haven for mutants so they can live in peace.

 

"Logan has a more human feel,” says James Mangold (the director). Conner Merrifield, a UME senior says, “Logan is the beginning of a new era of actual storytelling using comic characters. Allowing the filmmakers the full creative property made this movie what it is. Hollywood should learn a thing or two.”

 

Logan was released in theaters on March 3, 2017, and critics and fans loved it. A number of viewers say that Logan has a chance to win an Oscar for Best Movie of the year and Jackman could be up for Best Actor but nothing is confirmed. Logan earns a high 9.5 claws out of 10, and we recommend you view it.
