Trubitt The Great

Written by White Chocolate

Strength, grace under pressure, athleticism. These are all words that can be used to describe the pure genetically bred athlete that is embodied by Mr. Trubitt. Students are constantly raving about the true athletic process that Mr. Trubitt puts on display daily.

As Kevin Chandlee put it, “Mr. Trubitt seems to be dominant in every single sport that he participates in. It's as if he doesn’t even need to try hard and he is still so good!”

Clearly, Trubitt’s abilities in the many different fields of play are truly a force to be reckoned with. In a recent interview with him, he mentioned that he has sports ever since a young age, in fact, by the time he was 16 he already had a black belt in Jeet Kun Do, which he tells me is a form of Karate. He is also very proud of his quick 5k run time of 38 minutes at the young age of just 14.

In high school Trubitt’s athletic abilities were on full display as he led his basketball team in rebounding, averaging about 25 rebounds a game. In addition to this incredible feat of athleticism, he also pitched in baseball and could throw a 90 mile per hour fastball! (With the wind).

As Ethan Minter put it, “In baseball practice Coach Trubitt has been teaching me his ways so that one day maybe I could throw a pitch as fast as him. He is truly an inspiration and I am surprised he isn’t in the MLB right now.”

Trubitt’s sports exploits didn’t stop in high school though because he played a large number of intramural sports in college including but not limited to Flag Football, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball. This is just yet another testament to his versatility as an athlete.

What better way to finish an article on the true athletic specimen Trubitt than to give a direct quote on what he believes is the best philosophy on sports, “Never give up, live every moment like it's your last.” 5/19/17
