To protest is to express an objection to what someone has done or said.  People protest to give their say or opinion about what they feel needs to change. Protesting became famous in the 1960’s and from then on people have used it to get their opinion out. The big question is has protesting ever worked and in this time and century does it even matter anymore?

The majority of the protests that are made are ignored while only a handful are actually responded to. The only way to have a successful protest is to follow through these steps. To start a protest off, you should include a lot of people. Nobody will just listen to a protest being made by one person. Majority rules. Personal sacrifice is another big step in having a successful protest. A protest is something that will take patience, but also you might have to sacrifice some things you do in order to actually protest. The more time you put into this protest the better chance you'll succeed.

“I don't believe protesting works today,” said by student who wishes to remain anonymous “For example the Donald Trump protest, people are walking around making traffic, and at the end of the day he still our president, nothing changed.” Another student says “protesting in this time period is basically impossible. I feel like the people barely have a say, and if they do listen to us they change it but not all the way.”
